There's a lot of sustainability in here - In the form of steel beams made of SALCOS® Structural Steel from Peiner Träger GmbH.

In the process of expanding its portfolio, the real estate company GLP Europe, which operates in Europe, has demonstrated a clear commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and thereby enhancing the overall environmental balance of its buildings.

This objective has been realised through the incorporation of SALCOS® Structural Steel beams in the construction of a new logistics hall in Lelystad, the Netherlands. The construction of this impressive steel structure, spanning approximately 38,000 square metres, not only adhered to stringent quality standards but also met the criteria for a forward-thinking and eco-efficient construction method.

So why does it do this?

... because the manufacturing process for SALCOS® Structural Steel beams emits around 47% less CO2 than a conventional steel beam thanks to the use of renewable wind energy.

... because a SALCOS® Structural Steel beam is based on 100 % scrap and therefore fully integrates building material recycling into the product.

... because the quality, homogeneity and durability of a steel structure make it ideal for future reuse.

Many thanks to our partners, Salzgitter Mannesmann Staalhandel B.V. and the dedicated steel construction company IQstaal B.V., who realized this showcase project!
