Protection of the environment and of natural resources are important corporate goals for Salzgitter AG. The compliance with all valid legislation and regulations is a matter of course. We always go one step further, however, as our understanding of responsible environmental protection does not end with compliance with statutory regulations.

We are constantly reviewing our systems and production processes and improving them continuously with the following aims:

Minimization of emissions and of the use of raw materials and energy

Environmentally compatible utilization or disposal of unavoidable waste

Manufacturing-integrated environmental protection instead of end-of-pipe technologies

The use of ecologically sound raw materials, expendables and operating materials

We seek an open and honest dialog with neighbors, business partners and employees. In this way the opportunities for new processes and products can be examined and evaluated in advance.
